Amber Security Inc ("Amber", "we", "us") designs, installs and maintains security systems: cameras, access control, intercoms and the software that runs them. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website, our software and apps, and the text messages we send.
Information we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, company, email address, phone number and site address.
- Account and service information needed to run your system, such as user accounts, device and site settings, and access-control records.
- Mobile phone numbers of people who agree to receive text messages from us (see "Text messages" below).
- Technical information such as device identifiers, logs and diagnostics that keep the service secure and working.
How we use information
- To provide, monitor, support and improve the services you use.
- To send service, security and system notifications, including text messages you have agreed to receive.
- To respond to your requests and communicate with you about your account.
- To keep our systems and our customers' sites secure, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us run our services (for example, hosting, telecommunications and messaging carriers), under obligations to protect it and use it only for that purpose; when required by law; or to protect the rights, property or safety of Amber, our customers or others.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
Text messages (SMS)
Amber Security Inc sends text messages to its staff and administrators about the systems we operate: for example, server and phone-system alerts, security events and service notices.
How you opt in
Staff and administrators are enrolled by Amber when their mobile number is added to our alert list, with their consent. When enrolled, you receive a confirmation message: "Amber Security Inc: You're subscribed to system alerts. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
Message frequency and cost
Message frequency varies with system activity. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.
How to opt out or get help
- Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You will receive one final confirmation message.
- Reply START to resume messages.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact us at office@ambersecurity.net.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we protect it with administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to a security company.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop receiving communications from us, by emailing office@ambersecurity.net.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
